What is a DYE VL laser?
The Dye VL laser is used to remove redness, enlarged capillaries and superficial pigmentation, with visible skin tone equalisation. It is intended for skin dominated by vascular problems, such as rosacea and capillaries, as well as pigmentation irregularities. The laser acts selectively on haemoglobin and pigment in the superficial layers of the skin, where it purposefully heats and closes tiny blood vessels responsible for redness and visible capillaries. At the same time, it helps reduce blemishes and discolourations, making the skin more even and calmer in appearance. Thanks to its precise action, the treatment improves skin tone and restores a natural, uniform complexion without aggressive damage to the skin surface.
In rosacea, light treatment is planned according to the severity of redness and broken capillaries, as part of a broader dermatological approach. More information about the examination, therapy and skincare can be found on the page rosacea treatment.
How DYE VL laser works
How does the DYE VL laser work?
Indications
The Dye VL laser treatment is designed to improve skin quality in cases of pronounced vascular and pigmented lesions. It is used for photodamage in the form of sun spots, freckles and blemishes caused by sun exposure, couperose and fine dilated capillaries, rosacea with redness on the cheeks, chin and forehead, melasma and other forms of hyperpigmentation, spider veins and clustered broken capillaries, as well as red scars and red stretch marks. In addition, the treatment can help to gently even out the complexion and improve skin texture thanks to collagen stimulation.
What does a Dye VL laser treatment look like?
Before the treatment, the skin is thoroughly cleansed and the eyes are protected with special goggles. A neutral gel with a mild cooling effect is applied to the area being treated. During the treatment, the patient may feel a slight stinging sensation at the moment the light pulses are emitted. The Dye VL handpiece has a built-in cooling system that significantly reduces discomfort and makes the treatment comfortable, even for sensitive skin. The laser energy acts selectively on pigment and blood vessels, leading to the gradual fading of redness and blemishes. A facial treatment takes about 30 minutes, and when including the neck and décolletage, it can take longer.
Recovery
Following the Dye VL treatment, the patient can return to their daily activities immediately. In sensitive skin, mild redness may occur, which subsides quickly. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight in the following days, as well as the regular application of products with a high protection factor. Over the coming weeks, a gradual reduction in redness and a more even complexion are observed.
What are the effects of the treatment?
Results after the Dye VL treatment are quickly visible. It is important to note that, in the case of dark spots and hyperpigmentation, the blemishes will appear darker over the following 3-7 days after treatment, and then they will begin to clear and fade. Patients who have dealt with rosacea, couperose, hyperpigmentation and similar problems see effective improvements. The effect of this laser is also reflected in the regulation of sebum production and the reduction of inflammatory processes on the skin, all of which together influence the revitalisation and a more attractive appearance of the skin.
Dye VL enables you to:
- The redness disappears from the skin;
- Hyperpigmentation and dark spots fade from the face;
- Thread veins and dilated capillaries disappear from the skin's surface;
- The skin looks visibly fresher and healthier, and its overall quality has been improved.
How many treatments are needed?
Depending on the skin condition and indication, 3 to 6 treatments are usually required, at intervals of 3 to 4 weeks. Maintenance treatments are recommended once every 6 to 12 months.
When are DYE VL treatments performed?
Dye VL treatments are scheduled during periods of lower solar activity. Autumn, winter and early spring are considered the ideal time for the treatment, as the skin should not be exposed to the sun for a few weeks before and after the procedure. The use of SPF protection is mandatory all year round.
Contraindications
The Dye VL treatment is not recommended for epilepsy, active skin infections and herpes, vitiligo, a tendency towards keloid scars, malignant diseases, during therapy with photosensitive medications, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
