What is Profhilo?

Profhilo contains 64 mg of hyaluronic acid in 2 ml, in the form of a high and low molecular weight complex. Its main goal is to improve skin quality, rather than precisely shaping an individual region like volumetric fillers do.

When are results visible after Profhilo injections?

The changes develop over the coming weeks. The initial plan usually involves two treatments spaced about a month apart, after which the effect on skin hydration and elasticity is assessed.

Profhilo treatment

Hyaluronic acid binds water and contributes to the hydration of the treated tissue. Profhilo is used in the approach biorevitalisation and skin quality improvement. It does not contain a vitamin and mineral cocktail, nor is its concentration proof of an immediate or guaranteed effect. An overview of various preparations can be found on the page Skin boosters.

The treatment begins with a consultation and a discussion about what you would like to improve. The skin is cleansed and, if necessary, an anaesthetic cream is applied.

Profhilo is applied using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique: at five points on each side of the face, making a total of ten. The points are chosen so that they are away from major blood vessels and nerves. Usually, 1 ml of the product is used for each side of the face.

In the first few hours, small bumps can be seen at the injection sites. These gradually subside as the product distributes evenly throughout the skin. The treatment takes a short time and afterwards you return to your daily routine.

Profhilo can be considered for adults with dehydrated skin, fine lines and a mild loss of elasticity. An examination assesses whether the problem stems primarily from skin quality or from a loss of volume and support.

Age in itself is not an indication. If the main problem is the loss of supporting tissue, the doctor considers other options, including Profhilo Structura, when it is the appropriate choice.

What can you achieve with Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable treatment designed to hydrate and improve skin elasticity. It is most commonly chosen for the face and neck when the skin lacks freshness and firmness. Before the first treatment, we agree on the region and visit plan.

Profhilo is most commonly applied to the face and neck. According to the doctor's assessment, it can also be applied to the décolletage and hands, where the skin also loses hydration and elasticity. For each region, the number of points and the amount of preparation are determined separately.

A possible goal of the treatment is better hydrated skin, improved elasticity, and the softening of fine lines. The degree of change varies from person to person. Profhilo does not replace every wrinkle treatment, does not address all causes of sagging, and does not guarantee a facelift.

Profhilo or Profhilo Structura?

Profhilo focuses on skin hydration and elasticity. Profhilo Structura it is intended for a different purpose: changes in the superficial facial fat tissue and loss of support. A higher concentration of hyaluronic acid does not mean that one preparation is better for everyone. The choice depends on the tissue to be treated.

Answers to frequently asked questions

Before the procedure, an anaesthetic cream is applied to make the treatment more comfortable. During application, a mild stinging sensation or pressure may be felt, but patients generally tolerate this well.

Following application, redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising may occur. Their duration varies among patients, so resolution within a few hours is not guaranteed. The doctor will provide instructions for aftercare and the resumption of activities. If severe or increasing pain, unusual skin discoloration or visual disturbances occur, seek medical attention immediately.

The initial cycle usually involves two applications about a month apart. The doctor adjusts the plan to the preparation, region and skin condition. Maintenance is agreed upon after assessing the response, without a universal promise that the result lasts for exactly six months.

No. Profhilo does not add volume and does not change facial features. The goal is skin quality: hydration, elasticity and a more even appearance. If the main problem is loss of volume or support, the doctor will suggest a different approach, for example hyaluronic fillers or Profhilo Structura.

The skin on the neck is thinner and has fewer sebaceous glands, which is why it loses its elasticity more quickly. Profhilo can improve hydration, quality, and firmness of the neck skin, especially for fine lines and initial sagging. Profhilo is one of several treatments for this region, and an overview of all of them can be found on the page neck and décolletage treatments.

Profhilo, dermal fillers, and other skin boosters all contain hyaluronic acid, but they have different purposes.

Combining with other procedures requires a separate plan and an appropriate time interval. Profhilo is not applied simultaneously with laser resurfacing or medium-depth chemical peels. The order of treatments and recovery is decided by the doctor according to the specific device and procedure.

For the first six hours, avoid applying pressure to the treated area. Drink plenty of fluids and care for your skin according to your doctor's instructions.

They are most commonly temporary: redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising at the injection sites, which usually resolve within a few days. Lumps at the application sites occur less frequently.

In a review of practice data on over 40,000 patients, very few adverse reactions were reported and none were serious.

If you notice severe or increasing pain, a change in skin colour or visual disturbances, contact a doctor immediately.

We recommend planning your injectable treatment at least two weeks before an important event. If a series of treatments is required, the plan should start earlier to allow enough time for the full effect to develop.

The treatment is not performed during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, nor in cases of active skin infections, autoimmune diseases or known hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the preparation. Caution and a doctor's assessment are also required in cases of a tendency to keloids and blood clotting disorders.
