Facial mesotherapy

Facial mesotherapy is a treatment in which carefully selected mesotherapy cocktails containing hyaluronic acid, vitamins and antioxidants are injected into the superficial layers of the skin. The effect of the treatment depends on the proper selection of active substances in accordance with the condition and needs of the skin. The aim of mesotherapy is to improve hydration, stimulate regeneration and enhance overall skin quality.

What is mesotherapy?

Facial mesotherapy is a treatment that directly replenishes the substances the skin loses over time – primarily hyaluronic acid, vitamins and other regenerative ingredients. Instead of being applied to the surface, the active substances are injected into the superficial layers of the skin, where they can work more effectively and in a targeted manner. The effect of mesotherapy does not depend solely on the application itself, but above all on the correctly chosen mesococktail. The formulation is tailored to the condition of the skin – whether the dominant problem is dehydration, loss of elasticity, a tired complexion or the first fine lines. In this way, mesotherapy stimulates natural renewal processes, improves hydration and contributes to a visibly fresher and higher-quality skin appearance, without altering facial features. For skin regeneration using one's own plasma, we also perform PRP facial treatment.

Facial mesotherapy

Facial mesotherapy is intended for individuals who notice the first signs of dehydration, skin fatigue and loss of elasticity. It is often chosen by patients with dry and dull skin, fine lines, uneven complexion or reduced tone.

The treatment is also suitable for younger people who want preventive care and the preservation of skin quality, as well as for those who already show milder signs of ageing. It is particularly useful during periods when the skin is exposed to stress, seasonal changes, solar radiation or general bodily fatigue.

The decision to apply mesotherapy is made following an expert assessment of the skin condition, in order to select the appropriate mesococtail and achieve a goal that is in line with realistic expectations.

1. Before the treatment itself, it is important to carry out an examination so that a specialist doctor can assess the current condition of the skin and, based on that, determine the combination of mesococktails to be used during the treatment.

Once the mesotherapy cocktails are precisely determined, the treatment can begin. This is followed by a thorough cleansing of the face, neck and décolletage as preparation, and then a local anaesthetic cream is applied to make the treatment more comfortable.

3. Then the mesococktails are injected into the skin using very thin needles. For mature or problematic skin, mesotherapy can be combined with microneedling (Dermapen or SkinPen), which creates microchannels in the skin and further stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. That combination is described in the section on microneedling mesotherapy and chemical peels.

The whole treatment takes about 45 minutes.

Better hydration and a fresher appearance can be noticed a few days after the treatment. For a more pronounced effect, a series of three to four treatments at intervals of three to four weeks is usually planned, according to the condition of the skin.

We use Revitacare and RRS preparations, which include various formulations for different skin needs: dehydration, fine lines, tired complexion, loss of elasticity and changes caused by sun exposure.

The composition of the mesotherapy cocktail depends on the treatment goal, but most commonly includes hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids, minerals and antioxidants. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for water retention and intensive hydration, while vitamins and antioxidants help protect the skin from oxidative stress and external influences.

Amino acids represent the building blocks of proteins such as collagen and elastin, so their presence contributes to strengthening the skin structure. Depending on the indication, peptides or other bioactive ingredients aimed at regeneration and improving tone can also be added to the formulation.

The true effect of mesotherapy is achieved through a combination of carefully selected substances, tailored to the specific needs of the skin, rather than a universal formula for all.

In mesotherapy, a cocktail of multiple ingredients is introduced into the skin: low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids and minerals. In biorevitalisation, a more concentrated hyaluronic acid is introduced, which remains in the skin for longer. This is why mesotherapy usually requires more treatments at shorter intervals, and biorevitalisation fewer treatments.

A detailed comparison can be found on the page facial biorevitalization.

The skin under the eyes is thin and quickly shows dehydration, fine lines and a tired look. For such skin, mesotherapy can improve hydration and skin quality, using products intended for that area.

Mesotherapy does not fill in the hollow under the eye, nor does it remove dark circles caused by pigment or visible blood vessels. Therefore, the cause of dark circles is always determined before treatment. Read more about this on the page removal of dark circles under the eyes.

Facial mesotherapy can be performed independently, but in our polyclinic it is often combined with microneedling (Dermapen or SkinPen), the device is chosen by the physician, and chemical peel, when the goal is a more pronounced improvement in texture and complexion.

Mesotherapy and microneedling. Microneedling creates micro-channels in the skin through which the mesotherapy cocktail penetrates deeper and more evenly, and the procedure itself further stimulates collagen production. This combination is chosen for enlarged pores, uneven texture, shallow acne scars, and skin that has lost its firmness. After the treatment, the skin is red and sensitive for up to two days.

Mesotherapy, microneedling and chemical peel. When dehydration is accompanied by blemishes, an uneven complexion, or a thickened surface layer of the skin, a mild chemical peel is included in the same protocol. The peel removes surface cells and evens out the complexion, while the mesococtail and microneedling work on skin hydration and renewal.

Which combination is suitable for your skin is assessed by a doctor during the examination, in accordance with the condition of the skin and the time of year. Prices for combined treatments can be found on the page Price list.

Before treatment:

  • Tell the doctor which medicines and supplements you are taking.
  • Do not drink alcohol the day before.
  • Come without makeup if you can.

After treatment:

  • The first 12 hours: no makeup, and do not touch the treated areas.
  • The first 2 to 3 days: no sauna, swimming pool, intense training and facial massage.
  • For a week: avoid direct sunlight and use a high factor sunscreen.
  • Following the combination with microneedling, the skin is red and sensitive for up to two days, so the doctor provides specific care instructions.

We recommend planning your injectable treatment at least two weeks before an important event. If a series of treatments is required, the plan should start earlier to allow enough time for the full effect to develop.

Mesotherapy is used for both hair loss and cellulite, but with different preparations and protocols. Read more on the pages hair mesotherapy and body mesotherapy.

Mesotherapy price

The price of facial mesotherapy depends on the type and composition of the mesotherapy cocktail used, as well as the individual treatment plan. Different preparations have varying concentrations of active substances and purposes, so the price is determined according to the chosen therapy. Exact pricing information is available on the page Price list, where all current preparations and treatments are displayed. The final plan and choice of meso-cocktails are defined after a professional skin condition assessment.

Answers to frequently asked questions

The treatment is carried out with very fine needles, using an anaesthetic cream, so most patients describe it as tolerable.

Following the treatment, the skin is usually more hydrated, fresher and has a more even complexion. These changes are visible a few days after the treatment. During a course of treatments, the skin may become more elastic and fine lines less noticeable.

  • hydrated and fresher skin
  • more even skin tone
  • less noticeable fine lines
  • better skin texture

Facial mesotherapy is not tied to age. On younger skin it is done preventively, and later on when the skin becomes dry, tired or loses elasticity. It is particularly suitable for dry and dehydrated skin.

Most common are mild redness, small bumps and small bruises at the injection sites, which subside within a day to a few days. Rarely, an allergic reaction or infection may occur. That is why the treatment is performed by a doctor, in sterile conditions and with single-use preparations. If you notice painful nodules or pus in the days following the treatment, contact a doctor.

Facial mesotherapy is not performed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in cases of active infections or inflammatory skin changes, malignant diseases or during cancer treatment, uncontrolled autoimmune diseases, coagulation disorders, nor in persons with a known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the preparation.
