Laser rejuvenation

Laser rejuvenation involves laser treatments of varying intensity for fine lines, sagging skin, uneven complexion, enlarged pores, and scars on the face, neck, and décolletage. The doctor determines the laser and the number of treatments after an examination, according to the condition of the skin and the recovery time that suits you. Following non-ablative lasers, the skin surface remains intact and normal activities can be resumed immediately, whereas ablative lasers work more intensively and require a recovery period of 5 to 7 days.

What is laser rejuvenation?

Laser skin rejuvenation is a medical procedure performed by doctors in Imedic. The laser enables precise and controlled action within the skin, with minimal stress on the surface layer. The laser emits controlled light energy which is converted into heat within the tissue and triggers natural regenerative processes. In this way, the production of fibroblasts, collagen and elastin is stimulated, leading to the refreshing, evening out and improvement of skin quality. Modern lasers make it possible to act at a precisely defined depth of the skin. Laser treatments are used to alleviate wrinkles, blemishes, hyperpigmentation, acne scars and stretch marks, as well as to improve skin texture and tone. They can be applied to the face, neck, decolletage, hands and body, and represent one of the most commonly recommended therapies in dermatology when the goal is to improve skin quality and treat scars.

ALL ABOUT LASER SKIN REJUVENATION

After the age of 25, collagen production begins to decrease and the first signs of ageing slowly become visible on our face and neck. Whether it is fine lines, reduced skin quality, sagging and dehydrated skin, or age spots, laser rejuvenation will help. Following a consultation with our doctor, you will find out whether the laser is the right solution for you.

In all of the cases mentioned, laser rejuvenation will deliver outstanding results:

  • skin quality improvement, when it needs its plumpness, elasticity, smoothness, and freshness restored;
  • skin tightening, improving facial and neck tone – laser skin tightening;
  • removal of wrinkles around the eyes and lips;
  • removal of blemishes, spots, hyperpigmentation;
  • removal of acne scars and other types of scars, as well as stretch marks;
  • one of the few procedures for efficient rejuvenation and tightening of the neck skin is precisely with the help of a laser.

If you are still having doubts, laser rejuvenation is the ideal choice for you if you want to maintain a healthy and well-kept skin appearance for as long as possible and slow down the appearance of wrinkles.

The choice of laser is definitely one of the most important factors when we talk about laser rejuvenation. At the polyclinic, we use non-ablative and ablative lasers, so we tailor the treatment to the condition of the skin and the recovery time.
Depending on the indications and the recovery time required, we select a specific laser or a combination of lasers. These are:

  • non-ablative lasers – treatments using these lasers can be carried out throughout the year;
  • ablative lasers – we can use them from the beginning of October to the end of March, so not during spring and summer.

Following a consultation, our doctor determines the condition of the patient's skin and accordingly decides which laser is suitable for the skin condition.
In the following text, we will introduce you to all the lasers available with us.

These lasers penetrate deeper layers of the skin, but the skin's surface remains intact. The recovery period is minimal, with no peeling or flaking. slight redness may appear after the treatment. This is why these treatments can be performed all year round. They are an ideal choice for treating fine lines, wrinkles, and for removing hyperpigmentation and spider veins. There are several types, but the so-called pulsed lasers are the most commonly used. The Alma Harmony XL Pro laser platform allows us to use different lasers and handpieces, enabling us to treat up to 65 different aesthetic and dermatological indications. It is approved by the FDA (the US Food and Drug Administration), and the treatments provided by the Harmony XL Pro are suitable for different skin types, various areas of the body, and all ages.

ClearLift laser

The full name of this laser is ClearLift Q-switched Nd YAG laser. It is also popularly known as Hollywood Lunchtime Facelift Hollywood lunchtime facelift.

We can use it to treat:

  • fine lines on the face, neck and décolletage;
  • enlarged pores;
  • sun-induced changes;
  • blemishes, spots, hyperpigmentation.

ClearLift is a high-intensity non-ablative laser that allows us to precisely control the treatment depth. It penetrates to the deepest layers of the skin without damaging its surface. It triggers the synthesis of collagen and elastin, tightening and regenerating sagging skin. Another effect is that it breaks down pigment spots and skin pigmentation, resulting in an even complexion. It restores skin elasticity and strengthens tone, pores are tightened, and the skin is clean and radiant. The ClearLift treatment can be performed on all skin types, is well tolerated and has no recovery period, with possible mild redness that disappears within a few hours. It removes imperfections in mature skin and ensures suppleness for young skin while slowing down the ageing process. Treatments can be performed on the face, neck, decolletage, hands and abdomen. A single treatment lasts about 30 minutes, and 3 to 4 treatments are required for top results. Read more about the treatment on the page ClearLift laser.

Another non-ablative laser that effectively promotes the creation of new collagen, while also successfully treating acne and problematic skin. ClearSkin Pro Er:Glass 1540nm is unique because it combines a non-ablative laser with vacuum cooling for the first time. The laser penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, while pleasant cooling protects the skin all the time, reduces pain and reduces discomfort during the treatment.
Treatment with this laser is ideal for skin rejuvenation and improving its quality. It is well tolerated and takes about 30 minutes. There is no downtime, and the skin may be slightly red for a few hours after the treatment. You can find out all about this treatment on the page ClearSkin Pro laser.

We achieve an immediate skin-tightening effect. The NIR device emits near-infrared light, the so-called NIR light (near infrared). The intense light source heats the subcutaneous layers of the skin, stimulating the production of new collagen. This enables long-lasting results that are visible for up to 2 years. The surface of the skin remains intact and undamaged.

Result:

  • firm and smooth skin;
  • improved skin tone and texture;
  • even complexion.

The NIR treatment takes about 30 minutes. It can be carried out all year round, and is designed for both young and mature skin. Read more about the treatment on the page NIR skin tightening.

During ablative laser treatments, the surface layer of the skin is removed, so the recovery and healing period takes up to several weeks. Laser rejuvenation using such lasers is most commonly used for skin tightening and wrinkle removal, as well as for reducing scars, particularly acne scars. We distinguish between CO2 (carbon dioxide) and erbium lasers.

The full name of this laser is iPixel Er:YAG 2940. This ablative, fractionated laser is primarily intended for skin remodelling and resurfacing. The indications we treat include loose and inelastic skin, mature skin, wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, and superficial skin lesions.
The laser acts like a peel on the surface layer of the skin, creating micro-damage and encouraging its regeneration. The split (fractional) beam makes the skin recover faster, much faster compared to other ablative lasers. Side effects after the treatment are intense redness and a stinging sensation on the skin, which can last up to a week. We perform the treatment from October until the end of March, and it is important that for about a month afterwards you do not expose your skin to direct sunlight and that you apply a high SPF. Read more about the treatment on the page Erbium laser.

The Candela CO2 laser is designed for skin rejuvenation, removing acne scars, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, excess eyelid skin, and other imperfections. This laser features 4 distinct operating levels, making it perfectly adaptable to individual patient needs. The Candela fractional CO2 laser allows us to precisely treat the superficial, middle, and deep levels of the skin while leaving the surrounding healthy tissue intact. The CO2R laser treatment begins with an ablative procedure, which involves removing a thin, superficial layer of damaged skin. The laser then creates microchannels in the deeper layers of the skin while simultaneously heating the tissue, thereby stimulating the production of collagen and new, healthy skin cells.

The indications we treat with this laser are fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, stretch marks, and the removal of minor excess skin on the eyelids.

Laser can cause discomfort during the treatment, which is why we apply an anaesthetic to the skin. Redness and swelling will appear after the treatment, as well as peeling of dead skin, which is a completely natural exfoliating process. Recovery takes 5 to 7 days. Read more about the treatment on the page CO2 laser.

Answers to frequently asked questions

Every laser rejuvenation treatment starts with a detailed skin cleansing, and here we can recommend Alma DermaClear treatment. An anesthetic cream is then applied to the skin if necessary, after which the laser is passed over the skin. Treatments last from 10 minutes to 45 minutes depending on the number of treated regions.

Depending on the laser we use, side effects may be just mild redness or, in the case of ablative lasers, redness, mild swelling, and skin peeling. The doctor will recommend how to care for your skin by using creams that promote faster skin healing. Depending on the recovery time, plan when you will have the treatment.

Intense laser light triggers natural processes in the skin and its regeneration. It stimulates the production of new collagen, in some cases for up to two years after the treatment. The skin is deeply renewed, rejuvenated, with new potential for a beautiful and healthy appearance.

The effects we achieve with laser rejuvenation are long-lasting:

  • skin is more elastic, radiant and refreshed;
  • skin quality and texture have been improved, complexion evened out;
  • pores are tightened;
  • wrinkles and fine lines are shallower;
  • acne scars and stretch marks are reduced;
  • we are slowing down the appearance of signs of ageing, especially wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.

In short – they are not and cannot be a substitute for a surgical face lift.
First of all, the facial ageing process is a complex phenomenon. It is not just the skin that ages, but also the subcutaneous structures that change over time – muscles, adipose tissue, ligaments and facial bone structures. Lasers do not have the power to reshape age-related changes in the subcutaneous tissue; their energy does not reach the muscle tissue or the deep adipose tissue, so they can neither tighten nor lift them.
