Yellow laser
The 577 nm wavelength yellow laser is among the most precise dermatological lasers when it comes to redness and pigmentation. Its light selectively targets haemoglobin and melanin, acting precisely where the problem is – on dilated capillaries, rosacea, couperose, telangiectasias, and certain pigmented lesions.
More about the choice of method and the course of treatment can be found on the page removal of facial and leg veins.

What is a yellow laser?
The yellow laser comes from the German company Asclepion, known for its long-standing development of medical lasers and technological precision. In practice, this means a reliable device that easily adapts to different skin types and various conditions – from vascular lesions to pigmentation and rejuvenation. The 577 nm wavelength is considered the gold standard for treating thread veins, couperose, telangiectasias, angiomas, and pronounced redness. Compared to older generations of “green” lasers, the yellow laser is more selective and safer, with a lower risk of hyperpigmentation, especially in darker skin types. It acts with precision, penetrating deeply enough to target problematic blood vessels while preserving the surrounding tissue – which is why we use it when we want an effective yet controlled and safe treatment.
Yellow laser treatment
How does the yellow laser work?
Until only a few years ago, a green laser was used for the specified skin conditions. It did not have as much capacity to penetrate deep into the skin. It could not reach the pigmentation and blood vessels that were the cause of the problem. The yellow laser penetrates deep enough to act on the cause of the problem. It provides long-lasting results and is able to cure the symptoms that appeared after the indications. It functions so well due to its specific wavelength. By penetrating deep into the skin, it selectively targets the areas that need healing. The surrounding tissues are completely protected as they remain intact.
The treatment is comfortable for the patient, and the recovery time is minimal.
Hyperpigmentation
The yellow laser successfully removes or reduces existing ones hyperpigmentation on the skin. Laser treatment can also be combined with other procedures aimed at reducing dark areas on the face. The yellow laser is mainly intended for epidermal pigmentations. It can be used to treat freckles, age spots, sun damage, melasma, and moles. The laser targets the pigment and causes it to break down. At the same time, the blood supply to certain cells that produce these pigments is reduced. In this way, excellent and lasting results are achieved.
Rosacea and thread veins
Vascular conditions on the skin cause redness. This is caused by the dilation of surface veins. The veins can be in the form of red patches, as well as in the shape of a spider's web. The Yellow laser will affect pronounced veins on the face and nose. It works to stop and treat rosacea. With this laser, it is possible to treat telangiectasias and angiomas. It is important to note that yellow light reduces, and in many cases completely eliminates, blood vessels. The complexion becomes more even, without red skin imperfections. Redness is reduced, and the skin's natural colour is restored.
Anti-ageing effect
The yellow laser has been popularised as a glass skin laser. Thanks to the effects it provides, the skin becomes visibly rejuvenated. It looks velvety, even and nourished. The laser brightens the complexion, but also acts directly on the causes of ageing. It stimulates the production of new collagen, so the skin structure will be of a higher quality. The face becomes tighter, more elastic and looks younger. An additional benefit is that facial redness disappears, as does blemishes that disrupted the natural look without makeup.

Have you got a question?
Answers to frequently asked questions
What does the treatment look like?
Every Yellow laser treatment begins with a skin assessment and a consultation with a doctor. Based on the type of blemishes – whether they are capillaries, redness, pigmentation or a combination – we determine the plan, the regions we are treating and the number of sessions required.
The skin is first thoroughly cleansed, protective eyewear is put on, and then a cooling gel is applied to the face for extra comfort. During the laser procedure, short pulses and a mild warmth are felt. Most patients describe the treatment as completely tolerable, with minimal stinging on sensitive skin. The procedure takes up to 45 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Initial improvements are often visible very quickly, while the full effect develops through a series of treatments.
Who is the Yellow laser for?
The yellow laser is intended for people who have pronounced capillaries, couperose, rosacea, redness or pigmentation that cannot be resolved with creams. It is also ideal for those who want a more even complexion and a healthier skin appearance without aggressive procedures.
It is particularly effective for vascular lesions as it selectively targets blood vessels, reduces redness and gradually makes the skin calmer and more even. In certain cases, a single treatment is enough for a visible improvement, but a series is most commonly performed to achieve stable results.
How many treatments are needed?
Two treatments are usually enough for capillaries. For rosacea and pronounced redness, up to three treatments are generally required, at intervals determined by the doctor according to the condition of the skin.
Recovery
Following the treatment, mild redness or minimal swelling may occur, which is an expected and temporary reaction. You can return to your usual activities either the same day or the very next day. Over the coming days, it is recommended to use a cream with a high sun protection factor regularly to protect the skin from UV radiation and maintain the results.
Is the treatment safe?
The yellow laser works selectively – it is targeted to absorb haemoglobin in blood vessels, while the surrounding tissue remains intact. It does not damage the superficial layer of the skin, which is why the risk of side effects is minimal. Temporary redness most commonly occurs, which disappears within a few hours. The treatment is safe for various skin types when performed under the supervision of an experienced doctor.
Contraindications
Yellow laser treatment is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In addition, it is not performed on individuals who have active infections, open wounds, herpes, or inflammatory processes in the region being treated.
For raised and red scars, the choice of procedure depends on the type and activity of the lesion, and you can find out more about this on the page treatment of keloids and hypertrophic scars.
It is contraindicated in patients with malignant diseases, severe chronic illnesses in an unstable phase, as well as in individuals using photosensitive medications (medicines that increase sensitivity to light). Special caution is required in patients with autoimmune diseases and skin healing disorders.
The treatment is postponed if the skin is freshly sun tanned or following recent use of a sunbed, chemical peels or aggressive aesthetic procedures. During the consultation, it is important that the doctor is informed of the complete medication you are using, in order to assess whether the treatment is safe in your case.
