Skinboosters – products and differences
Skinboosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin hydration and quality. They differ in formulation, additional ingredients, and application protocol. This overview helps you understand these differences before consulting a doctor.
How do skinboosters differ?
The choice of product does not come down just to the name or concentration of hyaluronic acid. The formulation, the area of application, the condition of the skin and the evidence for the specific product are important. A higher concentration or longer retention of the product does not automatically mean a better choice for every skin type.
For the procedure flow, preparation, recovery and planning of a series of treatments, please read biorevitalisation – what the treatment looks like. Here, the focus is on the preparations and their differences.
What are we comparing when making a choice?
- Type and stabilisation of hyaluronic acid.
- Additional ingredients, when the formulation contains them.
- The intended region and treatment goal.
- Protocol, potential reactions and expected duration of monitoring.
We recommend planning your injectable treatment at least two weeks before an important event. If a series of treatments is required, the plan should start earlier to allow enough time for the full effect to develop.
Skinboosters we use – an overview
| Preparation | What does it contain | What is it most commonly chosen for | Initial plan | Maintenance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Profhilo | 64 mg of hyaluronic acid in 2 ml, thermally stabilised, without chemical cross-linking | hydration and elasticity of the face and neck | 2 treatments, about a month apart | at an estimate, usually 6 to 12 months |
| Profhilo Structura | 90 mg of hyaluronic acid in 2 ml | loss of support of facial superficial adipose tissue | 2 treatments, about a month apart | according to an estimate |
| Jalupro (Classic, HMW, Super Hydro) | hyaluronic acid and amino acids | hydration and renewal; Super Hydro for pronounced dehydration, neck, décolletage, hands | a series of 3 to 4 treatments, spaced about 2 weeks apart | for about 6 months |
| Jalupro Young Eye | hyaluronic acid and amino acids for thin skin | skin around the eyes, fine lines | 3 treatments, 2 weeks apart | in 4 to 6 months |
| Juvederm Volite | stabilised (cross-linked) hyaluronic acid | longer-lasting hydration of the face, neck, décolletage, hands | usually 1 treatment, with a touch-up if needed | for 6 to 9 months |
| RRS HA Long Lasting | cross-linked hyaluronic acid (21 mg in 3 ml) and amino acids | dehydration, loss of elasticity, visible pores | 1 to 2 treatments | according to an estimate |
The plan is always adapted to the skin and the region. The table shows a usual starting plan, not a rule for everyone.
Skinboosters that we use
What skin boosters can improve
- Deep skin hydration
Skin boosters improve skin hydration because hyaluronic acid binds water. The skin becomes more hydrated, more elastic and has a visibly improved texture. - Improvement of skin quality without volume
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, skinboosters do not change facial contours or add volume. Their role is to improve hydration, tone, and the overall quality of the skin. - A more natural and fresher skin look
Following the treatment, the skin often looks more even, brighter and more radiant, with a natural glow. - Collagen and elastin stimulation
Hyaluronic acid and accompanying active substances can stimulate skin regeneration processes and contribute to its firmness and elasticity. - Minimal recovery
The treatment is minimally invasive and usually does not require a recovery period, so it can be done even when you want a quick skin refresh.
Profhilo and Structura: different purposes
Profhilo it contains 64 mg of hyaluronic acid in 2 ml and is used primarily for hydration, elasticity and skin quality.
Profhilo Structura it contains 90 mg in 2 ml and has a different focus: treatment of the face and superficial fatty tissue in the appropriate indication. It should not be presented merely as a stronger skinbooster, nor should the same areas of application be automatically transferred from one preparation to the other.
You can read more about the candidates, the protocol and the evaluation of results on their dedicated pages.
Jalupro
Jalupro Hyaluronic acid-based skin boosters combined with amino acids that participate in skin regeneration and collagen production are available. They are designed to improve hydration, elasticity and general skin quality, and are most commonly applied in a series of treatments to achieve a gradual and stable effect.
Hyaluronic acid helps the skin to retain moisture and improves its moisture balance, while amino acids represent the building blocks of collagen and contribute to skin renewal processes. Because of this, after the treatment the skin looks more hydrated, smoother and more even.
Within the Jalupro line, there are several products that are chosen depending on skin needs.
- Jalupro Classic It contains a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid and is often used for younger skin in need of hydration and the prevention of the first signs of ageing.
- Jalupro HMW contains higher molecular weight hyaluronic acid and is intended for skin that needs more intensive hydration and renewal.
- Jalupro Super Hydro It contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid with the addition of peptides and amino acids. It is intended for skin showing pronounced dehydration, loss of elasticity or the first signs of sagging.
Products from the Jalupro line are most commonly applied to the face, neck and décolletage, and the goal of the treatment is to improve skin hydration, texture and freshness. For the eye area, there is Jalupro Young Eye, described in a separate section.
Jalupro Young Eye – the skin around the eyes
Jalupro Young Eye is designed for the skin around the eyes. This skin is thinner than the skin on the rest of the face and more quickly shows dehydration, fine lines and a tired appearance. The preparation combines hyaluronic acid and amino acids in a formulation adapted to the sensitive area below and around the eyes.
Jalupro Young Eye is used when the problem is thin, dehydrated under-eye skin and fine lines in that area. When under-eye circles are the result of hollows, pigmentation or swelling, the treatment plan is different, so an examination is always performed before treatment. Read more about that on the page Removal of under-eye bags.
The initial plan is usually three treatments two weeks apart, followed by maintenance every four to six months.
Juvederm Volite
Juvederm Volite is a stabilised (cross-linked) hyaluronic acid preparation designed to improve skin hydration and quality. Unlike skinboosters which contain non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid and are applied in a series of treatments, this preparation is stabilised so that it stays in the skin for longer.
Due to its structure, hyaluronic acid gradually releases hydration into the tissue and helps the skin retain moisture for a longer period. As a result, the skin becomes more hydrated, elastic and of a more uniform texture, while fine lines may become less visible.
Thanks to the stabilised formula, the treatment is usually repeated at intervals of 6 to 9 months, which distinguishes it from products that require a series of treatments at shorter intervals.
The preparation can be applied to multiple regions:
- face
- neck
- décolletage
- hands
- the eye area
The aim of the treatment is to improve skin hydration, texture and overall quality, while maintaining a natural look without adding volume.
RRS HA Long Lasting
RRS HA Long Lasting is a product that combines stabilised (cross-linked) hyaluronic acid with a complex of 15 amino acids. This combination is designed to improve skin hydration, as well as support regeneration and collagen synthesis processes.
Hyaluronic acid in the product helps the skin to retain moisture and improves its hydro-balance, while amino acids represent important building blocks of collagen. Therefore, the treatment contributes to better skin elasticity, a more even texture and a fresher-looking complexion.
Thanks to the stabilised structure of hyaluronic acid, the moisturising effect and improvement in skin quality can last longer compared to products containing non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid.
The product is most commonly used for skin that shows:
- dehydration
- loss of elasticity
- more visible pores
- fine lines
It can be applied to the face, neck and décolletage, with the aim of improving hydration, tone and overall skin quality.
What regions are skinboosters applied to?
- Face: hydration, radiance and fine lines.
- Neck and décolletage: thin skin that shows an early loss of elasticity and fine lines. All treatments for this area are described on the page neck and décolletage rejuvenation.
- Hands: skin that appears thin and dry. How skin boosters are combined with lasers and fillers is described on the page hand rejuvenation.
- Around the eyes: only use preparations intended for that area, such as Jalupro Young Eye.
For each region, the doctor selects the product and amount individually.
Skin booster or biorevitalisation?
These are not two different treatments. Biorevitalisation is the name of the procedure, and skin boosters are the products used to perform it. On this page we compare the products, and we have described the treatment process, preparation and recovery on the page facial biorevitalization.
Who is a candidate for skin boosters?
Skin boosters are intended for people who notice that their skin is losing hydration, elasticity and its natural glow. They are most commonly chosen by patients who want to improve skin quality and restore a fresh, healthy appearance without changing facial volume.
This treatment can be a good choice for people who have:
- dry or dehydrated skin
- tired and dull complexion
- first fine lines and loss of elasticity
- uneven skin texture
- skin that has lost its natural glow
It is important to emphasise that skin boosters are not used for filling wrinkles, face lifting or contouring. Their role is to improve hydration, texture and overall skin quality. For more pronounced wrinkles, sagging skin or loss of volume, other treatments are often recommended, such as hyaluronic fillers, collagen stimulators or laser procedures.
Skin boosters before and after

Skin boosters restore hydration and elasticity to the skin. The photographs show the skin of the hands before and after skinbooster treatment: the skin is plumper and smoother, and fine wrinkles are less visible.

Have you got a question?
Answers to frequently asked questions
Are consultations needed?
Yes. During the consultation, the skin condition is assessed and the number of treatments and the most appropriate preparation are determined.
What is the main difference between skin boosters?
The products differ in the type and stabilisation of hyaluronic acid, additional ingredients and intended application. Cross-linked and non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid have different properties, but this classification alone is not sufficient for choosing a product or promising the duration of the effect.
The number of sessions, intervals, and maintenance are determined according to the specific product and the doctor's diagnosis. It is important to compare formulations for the same purpose and region, rather than just marketing names.
What does the treatment look like?
The examination determines the product, region and application plan. We have described the detailed course of the procedure, preparation and expectations on the page Biorevitalisation.
Treatment effects
Skin is more hydrated, smoother and has a more even texture. Fine lines may become less noticeable. The change is gradual and depends on the product.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments and intervals depend on the specific product and skin assessment. There is no single rule determining the same number of applications for all cross-linked or non-cross-linked formulations. The protocol is agreed upon after an examination.
Combination with other treatments
They can be combined with chemical peels, hyaluronic acid fillers and non-ablative lasers, such as ClearLift. With stronger procedures, like a CO2 laser, they are performed in separate appointments, and the order and interval are determined by a physician.
Skinboosters or hyaluronic fillers – what is the difference?
Both skinboosters and hyaluronic acid fillers contain hyaluronic acid, but their roles in aesthetic treatments are different.
Skin boosters are designed to improve skin quality. They work by deeply hydrating the skin, improving its elasticity and texture, and restoring its natural radiance. Their goal is not to change the shape of the face, but to revitalise the skin.
Hyaluronic fillers, on the other hand, are used to fill in wrinkles, restore lost volume, and shape facial contours, such as the lips, cheekbones, or jawline.
In other words:
- Skin boosters improve skin quality
- Fillers alter the volume and contours of the face
Because of this, these treatments are often combined. Skinboosters improve skin quality and hydration, whereas fillers can correct the volume and shape of certain facial regions.
The choice of treatment always depends on the skin condition, facial structure, and the goal the patient wishes to achieve, which is why the treatment plan is determined after a consultation.
Recovery and side effects
Redness, swelling, tenderness, small bumps and bruising are possible. How long they last depends on the product, the area treated and individual reaction. Instructions for aftercare and returning to activities are provided by your doctor. General aftercare instructions can be found on the page facial biorevitalization.
Can the treatment be done in summer?
Yes. Following the treatment, you need to avoid direct sun and sunbeds for several days up to two weeks, and use a high-factor sunscreen. If you are planning a seaside holiday immediately after the treatment, let your doctor know, and you will choose an appointment time together.
Do skin boosters remove wrinkles?
Fine lines caused by dry skin can be made less noticeable. Deep wrinkles and expression lines are not removed. For these, a doctor suggests other treatments, for example fillers or collagen stimulators.
