What is a colour Doppler of the thyroid gland?
Ultrasound Thyroid ultrasound with colour Doppler is a reliable and painless diagnostic method. There is no risk of tissue damage and it does not require special patient preparation.
The examination provides a precise insight into the appearance, structure, composition, size, and vascularisation of the thyroid gland, as well as insight into the condition of the parathyroid gland, lymph nodes, muscles, connective-tissue capsule, and salivary glands. If changes in the thyroid gland are detected, the patient is referred for an examination by an endocrinologist, who suggests any further tests (laboratory analyses, scintigraphy, etc.).
