Deep facial cleansing is the name for professional procedures used to remove surface impurities, excess sebum, and dead skin cells. The method is chosen according to the skin type, its sensitivity and the reason for the visit. A professional treatment is not mandatory for every person and does not replace daily skincare or dermatological treatment.

What facial cleansing can and cannot do?

The goal is a cleaner, smoother and more hydrated skin surface. The result depends on the chosen method and the initial condition. Cleansing is not a procedure that removes all blemishes, deep scars or skin sagging. Acne is not just the result of uncleanliness: for persistent or painful conditions, a dermatological examination and acne treatment plan.

How is the method chosen?

Before the treatment, we discuss previous skin reactions, home care and procedures you have recently had. It is important to report any medication, allergies, active inflammation and skin damage. The aim of the assessment is to determine whether cleansing is the appropriate choice and what intensity the skin can tolerate.

  • Hydrodermabrasion: solution and vacuum procedure that combines exfoliation, cleansing and hydration. In Imedic work is done Alma DermaClear treatment.
  • Diamond microdermabrasion: mechanical exfoliation of the surface layer of the skin. Read about the purpose and procedure on the page microdermabrasion.
  • Chemical peel: uses selected acids, with reactions and recovery that depend on the type and intensity of the peel. It is not the same as a routine cleanse; please see the overview for details chemical peels.

No method is best for every skin type. For a broader overview of the options, see facial treatments.

What does cleansing with Alma DermaClear look like?

The procedure comprises three phases: surface exfoliation, vacuum pore cleansing and the application of a hydrating solution. Products and intensity are chosen according to the condition of the skin. A detailed description of the phases, contraindications and aftercare can be found at Alma DermaClear page.

When is a dermatologist first needed?

If you have painful or persistent acne, severe irritation, an active infection, open sores or a skin lesion that is changing, please book an appointment first. Sensitive skin requires a tailored approach; the term “gentle treatment” is no guarantee that a reaction will not occur.

Post-treatment recovery and care

Redness, sensitivity or tightness may also occur after superficial procedures. Intensity and duration depend on the method and skin type. A quick return to daily activities does not mean that all reactions have ceased. For important events, leave a time gap according to the advice of the professional performing the treatment.

Follow the instructions received for gentle cleansing, moisturisation and sun protection. Do not independently add scrubs or irritating products until the skin has settled down. If the reactions become stronger or last longer than expected, contact the clinic.

How often is deep cleansing done?

There is no single spacing for all skin types and methods. The schedule is arranged according to need, the reaction to the previous treatment and home care. An orientational plan is listed on the specific service page; the frequency is not a mandatory calendar for every patient.
