Stomach, glutes and thighs have lost their tone and the gym doesn't fit into your schedule? Here is what Emsculpt can do.
It is not about willpower. Most people would gladly train if the day had a few more hours, but between work, chores, and family, the gym is usually the first thing that gets dropped from the schedule. The desire for a firmer and more toned body still remains. A belly that has lost its firmness, a lower-hanging gluteus, and softer thighs — these things bother you no matter how often you train. Emsculpt this comes in as a solution: a way for those very regions to get a stimulus that otherwise doesn't reach them. It doesn't replace movement, but it's a good first step, especially if you add at least a little bit of activity to it. Below is specifically what you can do for the abs, glutes, and thighs, and how to get the most out of it.
What does Emsculpt do for those three regions?
Emsculpt works via supramaximal contractions — contractions that are stronger and more frequent than a muscle can achieve on its own through voluntary exertion. This activates deep muscle fibres in areas that normal movement struggles to reach. For the abdomen, buttocks and thighs, this means that the very regions which have lost tone receive a targeted, intense stimulus.
With the glutes, the effect can be seen on their shape and fullness. Contractions engage the gluteal muscles in a way that lifts and rounds the buttocks — precisely what is achieved slowly with squats, and almost not at all without regular training. For many people, the glute region is precisely the reason they consider having the treatment in the first place.
On the abdomen, Emsculpt strengthens the abdominal wall. In a clinical study published in the journal Lasers in Surgery and Medicine (Kinney and Lozanova, 2019), MRI measurements two months after four treatments showed an average increase in rectus abdominis muscle thickness of 15.4% alongside a reduction in fat layer thickness of 18.6%. That study was conducted on the abdomen and on a small number of subjects, so the percentages cannot be automatically transferred to the gluteus and thighs, where the results are presented in separate, also small-scale studies. In practice, this means a firmer, tighter stomach — the muscle holds the abdomen in again, rather than appearing soft and relaxed.
The thighs, particularly the inner side, gain tone and firmness. This is a region that is difficult to target through ordinary movement, so targeted contractions make a difference there that is hard to achieve in any other way.
What is fair to say: Emsculpt shapes and strengthens the muscle, and it is really good at that. It does not melt away larger amounts of fat and does not change your whole figure — but for restoring tone and shape to precisely these areas, it does exactly what it needs to do.

What does the treatment look like and what should you expect?
Most commonly, this is a series of four treatments per region, once to twice a week, with at least two to three days between treatments; the exact schedule is determined by a doctor. This way, the entire series is completed in about two weeks. Each treatment lasts around 30 minutes and requires no preparation — it is enough to be well hydrated. The treatment itself is simple. You lie down relaxed, the applicator is placed on the area being treated — the abdomen, glutes or thighs — and secured with a strap.
The intensity gradually increases during the first few minutes to a comfortable level, and is then adjusted further throughout the treatment. What you feel are strong muscle contractions, along with a mild tingling sensation and a feeling of pressure — like a very intense workout, only without any effort on your part. The treatment is not painful and there is no recovery period, so you can return to your day immediately.
The only thing possible is mild muscle soreness over the next day or two, similar to after a good workout. Results do not come overnight, as muscle needs time to build. The first changes are usually noticed two to four weeks after the series, and the full effect develops and consolidates over the next six to twelve weeks.
That is the same principle as with training — the muscle grows gradually, in the weeks following the stimulus, and not immediately. If you are troubled by more than one region, treatments can be planned for the abdomen, buttocks and thighs within the same plan. The exact number of treatments and schedule depend on which regions are being worked on and their condition — this is best agreed upon at a consultation, according to what you need.
When a muscle needs skin or excess fat as well, that is where Alma PrimeX comes in
Emsculpt primarily strengthens and shapes the muscles. But two things are beyond its reach — the fatty deposits above the muscle and the skin that has lost its elasticity. That is where Alma PrimeX.
Alma PrimeX combines two complementary technologies: ultrasound which targets and breaks down fatty deposits and thus reduces circumference, and radiowave which warm the deeper layers of the skin, stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. It works on the very regions that cause the most trouble — the stomach, thighs and glutes — and also helps with cellulite.
That is why these two treatments are often combined.
Therefore, Emsculpt builds and shapes the muscle deep down, while Alma PrimeX takes care of the layer above it — excess fat and skin. When a region needs both, the combination yields a more complete result than either treatment alone. What you need — just the muscle, or work on both the skin and fat as well — is best assessed during a consultation through an examination of the region itself.

The body you want, with the schedule you have
If you do not have time for a regular workout, that does not mean you have to give up on a toned stomach, sculpted glutes and firmer thighs. Emsculpt does exactly what is needed here — it gives those areas a strong boost and restores their tone and shape, without hours spent in the gym. It is not a replacement for an active life, but it is a great start: it gets things moving that were static, and then very little effort is required to maintain the result.
It is best that at the consultation we look together at which regions are bothering you and how to put together a plan that suits you — just Emsculpt, or in combination with Alma PrimeX if along with muscle there is also a need to work on skin or fat.
Treatment and package prices can be found in price list for body treatments. During the consultation, we will determine together what the right choice is for you.

Answers to frequently asked questions
Can I tone my glutes without squats and the gym?
Does it help with a sagging belly?
How many treatments are needed for a visible result?
Does the result remain if I don't work out?
Muscle retains its tone best with at least a little activity — a walk, moving around more during the day, a few exercises at home. Without any activity, it gradually weakens over time, just like after stopping training, so a maintenance treatment is done occasionally.
Does the treatment help with the lower belly that doesn't respond to crunches?
Yes. The lower abdomen and deep abdominal muscles are hard to target with traditional crunches, and supramaximal contractions hit precisely that area. Combined with diet control, this helps the region appear firmer and more defined.
Tips for better results after the treatment
Following every chemical peel, it is important that you adhere to the advice and recommendations you will receive from your doctor in order to help your skin achieve maximum results.
- Look after your skin as your doctor has advised. This may include applying a regenerative cream, certain face masks or serums:
- Do not peel or scrub the flaking skin; let it regenerate on its own. Forcibly removing dead skin can cause bleeding, scarring or pigmentation spots;
- For at least two months after the treatment, apply a high-factor sunscreen daily;
- Do not expose yourself to direct sunlight, avoid sunbeds, saunas, and swimming pools;
